If you are a Canadian Citizen, without dual citizenship, you have to go through the normal immigration process. Forms are available on line to download. Contact a US embassy. If mother is going to sponsor you, get her to start a sponsorship process from her end. If you have a profession which is on the US needed list, you can speed up the process for a work visa, which means you can go there, work and continue the immigration process from within the states.
