Help answer this question below.
Yes, and they should give every member of the jury a frying pan to avoid this confusion in the future.
No it was the defence who lied.
How do you tell if an attorney is lying?
If their mouth is moving they're lying.
If every juror were meant to convict, then there would be no point in having a jury.
The job of a juror is to listen to both sides of the story, the evidence that is presented and then make a decision that the defendant either did or did not do what they were accused of.
Reasonable doubt (logic) plays a minor roll in the decision making.
None of us are accurate mind readers, so you have to work off of the evidence...and try to figure out...is it logical at any point...or do you have reasonable doubt?
Remember a crime of passion, may not appear logical at first glance...it includes emotional feelings that you might not see as logical.
Your job as a juror is to decide whether the person is guilty or innocent. If he/she is guilty, then you must convict, if you do not believe that the evidence convinces you he/she is guilty, then you must acquit.
If plea bargaining resolves most cases then when does "beyond a reasonable doubt" ever get a voice/chance/test? How is that reasonable?
