I've had haggis several times at Burns Night suppers. Although not unpleasant, I can't say I really like it, so I limit myself to a small portion. At the Burns Night supper I went to this year they had both traditional and vegetarian haggis.
-
I tried it. I thought it was fab. Even knowing what it was.
-
No. I'd only eat it if it was served on Fear Factor.
-
Yes and NO I did not like it.
-
I have and sorry, I was not impressed. I was hesitant, but not unwilling to try it. Wouldn't go out of my way to eat it again...there is honestly a lot better stuff to eat in this world. Sorry if that hurts.
-
I have, and its really not too bad. Someone asked me to try it while I was on vacation, I said "why not", and it worked out well.
-
I have. I didnt know what it was, as in, someone put it in front of me, so I ate. I really liked it.
-
No, I refuse to try it. NO matter how hot the scottish accent is (and it is) I will never. NEVER. NEVER try haggis.
-
Yes, I have tried it several times and I really enjoyed it. Once, it was homemade and very good. The last I had was canned from Scotland, also tasty.
-
Good eating! The only time I have tried it was at a Robert Burns dinner. I was sitting with a group of old Scots (I'm a young Icelander) and was quite enjoying my Haggis. I had been avoiding the grey, kind of stringy bits because they looked less than yummy but i figured in for a penny in for a pound. I picked one of the greyish bits up on my fork and was about to put it into my mouth when one of the guys at the table said, "Nae Lad! Ye dinna eat that. 'At's the wee stomach and no good for eating." Glad he did ;) Bliss

If I had a choice between haggis and shoe leather I'd pick the haggis. (like a Scot has a choice)
-
Nauseating.
-
horrific. I tried it once, and that was too much. I prefer Chinese, Indonesian and Italian.
-
As my Italian friend once said "sausage his own", translated, to each his own.
-
When I was growing up it was part of my culture. I don't care for it..But it is interesting that Scotland is the only country that celebrates almost less than peasant food as it's national food.
-
I've eaten haggis dozens of times and I like it, what`s the big deal? People in this world eat a lot worse things than haggis.
-
Campbells soup makes one called stockpot and I believe it has haggis in it!
-
Having a Scottish mother it was hard to get away from haggis, but saying that i do like it even though i dont cook it myself.
-
I have and I love it, but I have to concentrate very hard on not thinking what it's made of. Which is stupid, cos I eat lots of meat, so what's the difference?
-
Never have, never will :)
-
I'm Scottish and I look forward to haggis on the menu! It's great with mashed potatoes, turnip and ketchup. It's especially cheering in the winter.
-
were scottish!!!!! you know i have!!! :) and .... i love it! ..... warm haggis sandwiches with brown source!!! ... YUM!!!!
-
I will never ever eat that swill again in my life time... not even if I am reincarnated without tastebuds. Gross does not even begin to explain what it tasted like.... and the smell was horrid... But then, I cannot say my food is really a better choice since my parents taught me not to waste any part that is edible.... I just don't eat haggis.
-
I love haggis. More than anything, I love shepherds pie made with some chopped haggis thrown in with the mince. Just gorgeous! Maybe one of my favourite comfort foods!
-
Do you mean haggis? If so no, I'm a vegetarian.
-
Im Scottish and eat haggis now and again. Tastes good but really hard to explain the taste. Given that its made out of sheeps intestins and blood! Yum!!!!
-
yeah i love haggis! i just try not to think about whats in it as i eat it!!!! loverly with mashed potato and sweed
-
If you mean haggis yes I have, being Scottish. I can take it or leave it to be honest, it's okay, but I hardly ever eat it.
-
I have and it's not really bad.
-
NOOOO! it doesn't even sound good!!
-
No thank you. I don't wish to try it.
-
I love it. But I am a Scots.
-
I really want to try some... But it must be authentic or else I am not wasting my money.
-
It goes with boiled potatoes and mashed sweade Add it with anything else and it will spoil it Its not particularly healthy but its nice to have once in a while. Its a bit of an aquired taste too. Im 1/4 scottish and didnt like it as a child but my dad made me eat it and now its a rare treat but my partner hates it.
-
Sounds gross
-
No i never tried it.
-
MMmMmMmmmmmm.... Oats and entrails boiled and shoved into a sheeps stomach. Gamey goodness. No, thanks, I'll pass!
-
I think I understood why the Scottish people invented Scotch. To get rid of the taste of haggis. Kind of like why the Cubans smoke humongous cigars - to get rid of the taste of garlic in their food.
-
I'm scottish and when I was younger, I was told - very seriously by my granny - that the haggis was a wee creature running about the highlands of scotland. It was about the size of a piglet but was covered in patchy fur. Two of it's legs - not the 'front' or 'back' legs but the 'left-side' or 'right-side' legs were shorter than the other pair - this was to enable the haggis to run faster on the 'slanted' highlands. I believed the bi*ch too!
