Help answer this question below.
If they don't meet before, the name of the final will be Spain-Brazil. They have a chance of %50 both.
Brazil aren't as good as they used to be and where i live,England, my national team doesn't have enough youth.Italy's team will be 4 years older and most would have retired from international level. I would say Portugal or Argentina to win it but Germany and France won't be far behind.
I live in Australia, and judging by their performance, they have little chance of winning.
I have strong hopes for Argentina. They have a young talented team. In four years, it should have matured enough. Exciting players like Tevez are a joy to watch.
Ivory Coast (a little bias for my birth continent) were quite impressive, but they have an unexpreienced team. I would be overjoyed if an African team would win for the first time, in a world cup that is hosted in Africa for the first time.
Mind says Spain...Heart says Germany...but you would never wanna count england and brazil out..
Us dude us!!! As long as Rooney can stay fit this time! Come on ENGLAND 44 years of hurt ends now!! +4 bud.
I wouldn't look past Brazil at the moment, but we (England) may have a chance as a dark horse.
1.argentina
2.spain
3.germany
4.mexico
argentina is always a contender and they have such a good squad that the only ones i see beating them is themselves
spain has got passed there shoking stage and has the team to beat anybody in the world cup
germany is stacked with talent and always in the mix
and capable of upsetting teams like spain and germany
mexico is my sleeper team with new coah erickson has 2 years to work is majic. mexico has one of the best defenses in the world and a powerfull midfields they lack experience in the attack. very young strikers but will improve as they play more but this is mexicos flaw and will keep them out of the cup
Honestly, it would be between these :----
1. Argentina
2. England
3. Germany
I have reasons to support this. Considering the likes
of Italy, France and Brazil, Spain and Holland.
ITALY have peaked during 2006 world cup and they've
to incorporate the inexperienced players in the
worldcup2010.
FRANCE experiences the same situation and i feel
they're in danger of exiting early, since they've
got very young players, which is why they would
struggle in the world cup.
BRAZIL would definitely be in the running, but they
too have got some new players apart from ronaldinho
and kaka, but they might end up in the semifinals.
SPAIN are perennial chokers on world stage, they had
won the euro 2008. But Euro is entirely different
from Worldcup.World cup is all about pressure to
perform and win the world cup , as was the case of
Italy in 2006 edition. But they might reach QFS or
maybe SF's , they mightlose to a deserving winner of
2010 world cup.
And HOLLAND??? always write off the dutch. YES!!!i had
high hopes on their euro2008 andworldcup06campaigns,
but they always blew their chances. The problem with
the dutch is they play too much of attacking football
due to this , in the past as well they've lost some
key matches, which they might have won, dutch might
not win 2010 without a balance of attacking and
defensive football.
Reasons for the english are; they possess the most
experienced players in their team, most of them have
played in 2 or 3world cups, by 2010.And the fact that
Capello is a winner in any format that would prove
crucial, we all know capello employs a defensive
strategy which could be successful for the English
in 2010. In order to achieve this, they have to play
together a team, not as individuals.
Germany :----- NEVER WRITE THEM OFF.
Germans are always there in the last 4 or finals of
major tournaments, and the fact that they've got very
talented, young group of players 25years, might be
crucial for their success. We all know that Germans
have built a full squad capable to go farin the 2010.
Argentina :-----
What a team man!!!! truly incredible team, likes of
MESSI, CAMBIASSO, RIQUELME, TEVEZ, MILITO,is the pick
of myn to win 2010!!!which had almost beaten the
germans in worldcup06, had it not been for that
monumental blunder by PEKERMANN , those 2
substitutions in regular time, they would have won
that match and
perhaps they would have won the worldcup06.
Sadly, it wasn't meant to be , but there's one
interesting scenario, that for every 24 years a
great,a genuine footballing nation has won the world
cup.
YES!!! Brazil in 1994 after 1970,
Italy in 2006 after 1982,
Argentina in 2010??? after 1986 ??? MAYBE TRUE.
This is tough for me, England are my team, and I have Portuguese heritage, so I can't vote for either of them. I'd go with Brazil for the fact that Dunga has come up with a tactical masterstroke. His 4-2-3-1 isn't really a 4-2-3-1 in the European sense of tactics, what we see as a 4-2-3-1 is a 4-1-2-1-2 to the Brazilians. The evolution of the 4-2-3-1 is vastly different in Brazil and Europe, Brazil have always favoured very narrow tactics with their forwards starting attacks from out wide and having roving fullbacks bomb down the flanks to deliver crosses. Europeans have always played a 4-4-2 with full backs rather than Wingbacks and having the creative force lie at the feet of their wingers, while their centre forwards wait in the middle to knock in the cross. The evolution to the 4-2-3-1 from the 4-4-2 was essentially playing a tall physically imposing striker alongside a smaller and much more nimble partner and having the more agile of the 2 play in a deeper role that would create chances from deeper. For the Brazilians, it was different, their formations varied from a 4-2-2-2 with a square midfield to a 4-1-2-1-2 with a very tight diamond, Dunga's 4-2-3-1 has adapted the 4-1-2-1-2 formation by having the wingbacks be less attacking and kicking the right point of the diamond out wide and allowing Robinho to drift left and start attacking from farther back as he has done all his life. The beauty of having a striker like Robinho is that because he has the natural tendancy to drift left, Dunga does not have to risk over stretching his diamond by kicking Melo out left to mirror Ramires and thus exposing a slow and aging Gilberto Silva. Melo staying central also allows him to help use his pace to compensate and keep the traditional defensive square of 2 centre halves and 2 defensive midfielders. This is what gets to most European teams when defending against Brazil, if you asked the Brazilians who their left midfielder is they'd say Melo rather than Robinho, but Robinho plays the farther left of the 2. This is the conundrum for the team defending, do they mark Robinho with the right back and allow the Brazilian left back to overlap? Do they treat him as a forward and mark him with a centre half pushing up, leaving ample space behind him for a dangeruos Kaka? Do they play extra defensive midfielders and sacrifice their own attacking options? Or do they simply ignore him and let him run at defenders with pace and guile?
Second favourites after Brazil (though it pains me to say it given my heritage) is Spain. Between Xavi, Iniesta, Xabi alonso and Cesc, they have a cetral midfield that could out pass any country. In Fernando Torres and David Villa they have pace, guile and finishing up front. In Casillas, they have a keeper that can have world beating performances when put behind a decent defence (take note Real). The only weak points are their flanks. Apart from Sergio Ramos at full back and Carzola at winger, there is a surprising lack of talent in the wide positions (Arbeloa and Riera are decent, but as their performances at Liverpool have shown, they have their shortcomings). The Spanish are sitting top of their qualifying group on maximum points, but their wins have been less than emphatic thus far. Their only wins where they won by a margin of 2 goals or more were against Armenia(4-0) and Estonia(3-0), Turkey brought into the open Spain's weakness on the flanks by stretching them wide in the Ali Sami Yen. Spain did win that game courtesy of a penalty and a last gasp winner, but the worry is that if Spain take on a team with dynamic wingers like Argentina, Brazil or Portugal, they may find themselves in a spot of trouble.
Argentina would come in third in my mind based solely on the amount of talent they have in their squad. The only worry is that their defence may be less than watertight given Heinze's shaky performances in Spain and the fact that Zanetti will be 36 by the tournament, not to mention their less than spectacular history of Goalkeepers. However, if Maradonna can pull this team together (I doubt he can), and pllay them in the right formation (I doubt his tactical ability), then maybe they won't end up going at the same faltering pace they have been going at during this round of qualification.
Personally I'd love it if an African team won their first world cup on African soil, I'm sure it would mean so much more to them.
Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Italy, Germany and England are the favourites AS ALWAYS.
I'll be supporting England and i think they have a realistic shot of winning it this time. They have been impressive under Capello, adding defensive intelligence and tactical awarness to their already existing game of power, pace and strength. They look like genuine contenders to me and i am NOT one of these England fans that says this every World Cup. I'm usually very pessimistic.
Being as i am not allowed to pick England, i'll go for Brazil. Why? I don't know. They're Brazil and they usually do well. Germany and Italy are always there abouts though and i wouldn't be surprised if either or both of them sneaked in to the final or even won it.
South Africa (like all the African teams), do not have a snowballs chance in hell of winning it. Sorry, that's just the way it is.
I'd put a punt on Brazil. None of the European teams have figured out how to defend against their 4-1-2-1-2 cum 4-2-3-1. The problem is that Robinho's role is very confusing for European defenses as he's not playing forward enough to be the central defender's problem, not wide enough to be the right back's problem, but not deep enough to be the defensive midfielder's problem. If the Centre half comes up to mark him, Kaka has space to exploit; if the Right back marks him, it leaves a space behind him for the overlap; if there's only one Defensive midfielder and he marks Robinho, he leaves Kaka unmarked; if there are 2 Defensive Midfielders and one marks Robinho and the other marks Kaka, there's a lot of space for Ramires to exploit, if they leave him unmarked, they give him an extra few yards to gain momentum to beat his man. The only fail safe answer is to choke the centre midfield with 3 midfielder like Chelsea did to Barcelona, this though means sacrificing their own attacking options. It's a tactical masterstroke by Dunga and if no-one else figures out a way to stop them, they may win the World Cup much in the same way that Everton made it to 4th spot 4 years ago
I'd give the best chances to Germany, Brazil, Spain, and Argentina.
Germany have always been in the running, and they've got a talented bunch, especially with Schweinsteiger moving in to the leadership spot, that have performed well.
Brazil have got loads of talent, especially on the attack, both in goalscoring and creation. I think they've got the potential to win if they can be consistent and organized.
Spain are in top form, and it looks as though they've overcome their chokiness. Few weaknesses in that team on attack and defence as long as they can stay consistent.
Argentina have a balanced and talented squad, especially with Riquelme calling the plays, and can pull of big wins if they remain consistent and focused.
Outsider spots I'd give to Russia, Paraguay, Portugal, and the Netherlands.
Russia proved to be extremely talented at EURO2008, and if they can maintain their organization and focus, with two years to mature their squad will be very strong. Especially with the genius of Guus Hiddink behind them.
Paraguay are proving to be solid on the defence and dangerous on the offence in S. America, especially with players like Cabañas, Valdez, and Santa Cruz. They've definitely got the potential to crack tough shells.
Portugal have got great talent in C. Ronaldo, and if they can develop the team around him to have some depth (which they've shown in the past), they can definitely go far.
The Netherlands, finally, have got great attacking football, and if they can overcome their defensive troubles and keep themselves organized, they can go far.
Argentina will surely win the World Cup
As usual and as since the British will win. They are the best players.
Germany should withdraw from this competition.
As a German I never would play against or with the British.
Germans should completely ignore the British because with people of this type I would not even like to play football.
For each British the Germans are since ever the most hated and natural born enemies so that Germans should stop any contact to each British.
After my opinion the German team should leave instantly and go home by refusing to play aginst the British.
It makes no sense to play football with such a kind of hateful and hostile people.
Germany or Spain

I THINK BRAZIL IS THE FAVORITE FOR FIFA WORLD CUP 2010
http://www.peepat.com/blog/fifa_world_cup_2010.aspx
lol it was spain
I reckon Germany will win the 2010 world cup in South Africa. I hope the host nation does themselves proud and it would be a great world cup to see the South Africans reach the last 16 and beyond. I reckon the usual contenders will always be there like Italy, France, Brazil, and Portugal. Spain are a team that has now shown they can produce with their UEFA Euro 2008 title win over Germany. I would not be surprised if I see Spain break into the quater finals and beyond. The Netherlands also looks good while Russia and Turkey did so well at Euro 2008 they are capableof reaching the last 16. Australia as well, Croatia, Paraguay are other teams that can make the 2nd round. Cameroon I hope does well.
Spain is pretty young, and apparently they don't choke anymore. Argentina has a double advantage: they're used to playing in hot climates and they're enormously talented. I'll personally be rooting for the Ivory Coast, though I don't think they'll win the dance unless they get a really lucky draw.
the one who finishes first! :-)
I think Brazil. Theyr'e strong, theyr'e stragistic and they have Ronaldinho.
Brazil. No European team ever won the cup outside Europe. Brazil won three times outside South America (in Sweden in 1958, in the USA in 1994 and in Japan and South Korea in 2002), Argentina won in Mexico in 1986.
I hope a south afican team will as the countries will have their own fans behind them which will make the players feel that a 12th man is on their side. I don't want it to be predictable and boring like the other world cups. I hope it will be like the Euro 2008, when Greece were champions.
