    Sweaty palms is a condition referred to as palmar hyperhidrosis. This medical condition is caused by hyperactive sympathetic nervous activity over sweat glands of the hands. Medical treatment typically consists of prescription medication, which only reduces sweating temporarily, and is not normally effective in severe cases of this condition. The only effective treatment for patients with server palmar hyperhidrosis is a surgical procedure called thoracoscopic sympathectomy.
