The Prophets were men and women chosen by God to give his messege(s) to his the people at the time. Such people include Moses, Abraham and Elijah. The Apostles were the 12 people chosen by Jesus to follow him and learn in his ways. Such Apostles include Peter, John, James, Matthew, Mark, Judas, and Luke. Most of the Apostles went on to become Saints with the exception of Judas, who betrayed Jesus.

The Bible consist of 17 prophetical books of the Bible. They are divided into 'Major Prophets and Minor Prophets. Your Major Prophets are: Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel and Daniel. Your Minor Prophets are: Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi. In the Old Testament there were other Prophets such as: Moses, Nathan, Elijah, and Elisha to name a few. There were also Female Prophets called Prophetess. I could go on but that would wear my fingers out. We need to read the Scriptures and ask God for his wisdom and understanding of his word. The New Testament first five books are called the gospels of Jesus. His twelve disciples were never called Prophets. The Old Testament and New Testament Prophets nor Jesus were Catholic.
