Check out the book YOU CAN BANK ON YOUR VOICE by Rodney Saulsberry -- and ask your school guidance counselor to help you find a recording house that you can visit to see how it all works; maybe write a report on it for career day, etc. Making it all about school and learning about how different businesses work with young talent (and less about "oh mom I'll just die if I don't become a VO artist in a big city far away from you!") will be a way to show her that you're interested in it and you'll do a lot of research and work to learn more about it. The books (there are a few other titles in most large libraries, also written for career advice), will help you see how varied the challenges are. You might research a favorite young voice talent and write their agent a letter (www.whoRepresents.com), asking for advice and how they did it, adding sincere compliments about the work you've researched that they've done. Showing your teachers and parents that you can learn a lot on your own will help them see that you're being smart about it. The book will walk you through it, but you'll still need someone to drive you to all these places (making reels, meeeting agents, getting headshots -- yes, just for voice, etc.) and you'll need ths start-up funds to pau for all this (never pay an agent upfront.) So if you take an after school or summer job to save up for a demo reel, they'll see you're serious -- at your age, it'll have to be cash employment from a private party (clean house for a neighbor, dog walking, etc.), but your mom'll see that you're serious. Good luck!

hey... i know exactly how you feel, i am an actress myself and i know how it feels when your parents dont support you. well for your mom.. SHOW her that you really want it .. and getting famous is alot... and you could become a bad person, and your mom doesnt want you doing that to your life. another thing you can do is try to show your mom that your more responsible and that you can handle voice and school and everything else . nd there are TONS of agencies out there, if they dont chose you .. its ok . bcuz i have been rejected more times then i got signed ... because agents just want the right person.. and if they dont need you they dont chose you. i go to 4 auditions a week and all i have is disney channel.. elite modeling agency, and KM (costar and commercial agency) ... if i can do it you can (:
