Help answer this question below.
I don't think ANY animal should be killed and skinned for their pelts. Rats, Mice, Rabits, Tigers, you name it.
As far as leather goes, I'm still working on that. Hypocritical I know- but as I said I'm working on that. I'm phasing it out.
I would have to know if these rabbits they were being used for human consumption, if so, if it has to die anyway I see no reason not to use every part of the animal. I don't wear fur, but I do believe if something is killed and used for food you should use more than the meat and throwing the rest to rot in some dump somewhere
I don't understand why it wouldn't. Fur is fur at the end of the day, no matter which animal it comes from. I don't see why I'd feel differently about rabbits. I believe it's wrong to use animal fur for clothing in the Western, ''developed'' World. I understand why Inuits might wear it but that's about it.
Treat us kindly please.
OF COURSE!
My sympathy extends to all animals that are not humanely raised and killed. I don't believe in raising and killing an animal solely for it's pelt, but I enjoy eating rabbit and have no problem with rabbit fur being used for clothing - once it has been ethically farmed. I live in a rural area and most of my food is grown or raised locally. I would never eat a battery-produced egg or chicken. I'd have no problem eating/wearing produce from any of the farmers around here.
Of course! No living beings wants to be murdered and robbed off their skin and flesh. I don't care what animals those evil sub-humans target or whether they eat the furs/skins, wear them or use them for some weird sexual perversions or rituals, they have no right to bully the defenseless citizens of Earth!!!!
Of course they do!
Of course they do!
Yes..without any doubt..an animal is an animal!!!!
I am not an anti-animal product person. I know very well where my leather and fur come from, and it doesn't bother me. I do believe that the animals should be dispatched (such a better word than kill)with as little pain as possible, and the industry should take all care to see to it.
Condoning the skinning of one animal and not another is giving one life more value....a life is a life.
Im an animal lover so I am pretty much against most of that stuff. I dont go out and protest and enforce my rules on others I just practice them myself

You're reading Animal rights activists strutted naked through Tokyo's glitzy Ginza district wearing nothing but a banner reading: "The naked truth: Burberry butchers bunnies." Do your sympathies towards use of furs extend to rabbits?
Comments
Living in 2007 in developed countries, we can afford these sensibilities and have alternatives, but for most of the world and for most of history, there were no alternatives. I have no problems with farmed animals of any type, and, as an Aussie whose land is being ruined by introduced rabbits, little sympathy with "bunnies". To us, they are just rats with good PR.

Yeah, I'm still phasing leather out. I own a pair of leather trainers still which I don't usually wear.
As far as rabbits go, I understand they might be pests, but that's no reason to skin them and put them on your back. Did you know that may animals who are used for fur are still alive and concious when they're skinned? I thought the Big Guy would object to his creatures being treated inhumanely, no?!

I don't like and I agree that no animal should be killed horrifically. But I still have no problems with killing farmed animals. That will continue until the renewing of the world at the last day. Then all pain will stop.

What last day? Are you going all "judgement day" on me?
I don't think they should kill horrifically, OR when they aren't thrifty with the animal. The bodies just rot away- they don't do ANYTHING with the bodies. It's just mindless, nonsensical killing.

Agreed Penny. ''Judgement Day'' isn't provable. The fact thousands if not millions of animals suffer needlessly because of the fur industry is. We should stop the suffering *now*.

I like you more and more Penny, seriously. You're great. (Obviously I wouldn't usually advocate throwing paint at people, but this is an exceptional case!)

Thanks! You too, Candy!
Here, do you want red or blue?
by Penny The Wise on June 16th, 2007
Red. Go for the blood look, just to reinforce the point a bit. is it lead paint by any chance?
by Carmella on June 16th, 2007
No, I didn't have any of that lieing around- Sorry! I didn't know I would be pouring it on people. But I do also have spray paint! A rainbow of colors- should be fun!
