Various major manufacturers make, or made, ambulances. They are actually not made at the factory though. A second company buys specialty vehicles from the manufacturer, and then installs the lights, batteries, shelving, etc. The car companies don't have the time or money to invest in making the small amount of ambulances out there, so companies are contracted by provinces or cities to custom make their ambulances. Just for an idea though, from what I've seen mainly the Big 3 (GM, Ford, Chrysler) are used for ambulances. Just look at the next one you see - what brand is it?
