How can we stop the media from putting so much attention on the entertainment world?

I have tried this three times and it hasn't worked yet, but it could work after another time. Tell the media that the entertainment world is dragging us to an endless slogging of falling into a big deep dark pit of horribleness

Stop reading it, watching it or listening to it. Nothing else will work. This won't either, as humans are naturally inquisitive gossips and the media feeds this to the point of addiction, so we're stuck with it.

They only feed us what we consume. If there was no market, they'd be printing something else.

quit supporting it! it's just supply and demand. although, i'm afraid the demand is too high. i've stopped watching TV, but i bet there are still shows on. it would take a huge movement of people. if they couldn't sell ads using the stuff, it would eventually go away.

They're not "Putting" attention on it, we're *Paying* attention to it. Remember, the media works for *Us*, and if we dislike the trite and pointless entertainment news they put out, then the only thing to do is to stop consuming it. It's all about controlling supply and demand, and we as consumers have that power is we'd just band together and use it.
