Are Israel God's promised people and if so are they right in the way they are treating the Palestinian people?

Promised or not promised, all people should be treated fairly. Many Palestinians and Israelis are living in terrible conditions with Kassam rockets falling on their heads every day (Israelis in Sderot) and constant military operations to arrest terrorists (Palestinians in Gaza). It seems quite logical that if there are no terrorists or rockets, there will be no need for military operations and everyone will live better lives. The Palestinians are paying the price (and living the tragedy) of their own corrupt regime.
