Help answer this question below.
No im not,if some one has a real purposeful reason to do it then do it.
Dont do it for a new stereo or drugs.
Do it to feed your children
No. If you think about it, every job is a form of prostitution. A soldier sells his entire body and mind to his government. He will kill simply because his government pays him. At least a prostitute doesn't hurt anyone.
The act or an instance of offering or devoting one's talent to an unworthy use or cause.
Sounds like a job I held a few years back!
Nah!
I think that laws against prostitution are perhaps amongst the most hypocritical.
Abortion is legal, because it's a "woman's right to choose what to do with her body," but prostitution isn't. I have greater moral objections to abortion than I do prostitution.
If a person has sex with someone else on film and gets paid for it, it's called 'pornography' and legal. In my opinion, prostitution is the same thing, less the cameras, lights, bad acting, and cheesy music tracks.
Though I would never be a prostitute or make use of one, I figure that as long as you're going to allow pornography and abortion, you may as well legalize prostitution and regulate it. If you take a look at the bordellos in Nevada, you'll see that it can be done successfully and safely. Mandating strict healthcare regulations would of course be necessary, as well as carefully-worded labor laws that prevent abuse of one's own body.
Although I do not see myself ever using such services, I do believe the socially correct thing is to make it legal but with guidelines. Have clients and hosts screened for STDs, mandatory barrier use and tax it.
Currently there are so many drug abusers using prostitution as a means to fund their habit. Legalizing it with controls would take this people off the street. The taxes could be used to help fight those social ills that force persons to look at prostitution as a way to survive.
no i mean i wouldnt do it but i guess do what you wanna do
I definitely am against prostitution for a lot of reasons but the biggest factor is that women who are involved in it are often victimized. It is dangerous. Perhaps if it were regulated by the government instead of the street it would be a little safer.
It has the potential to spread STDs, and I know condoms help this but nobody wants to use a condom.
Finally, I know one prostitute and she definitely says it has taken a toll on her soul and mind and spirit. Now, that is one person, not proof, but it seems to be that selling your body would have a detrimental affect potentially on mind, body and soul - although not everybody believes in the soul.
I'm not against prostitution, I'm against "pimping" and things of that sort... If somebody wants to prostitute, w/e that's there business
I think it should be legalized throughout the USA. It would help stop the spread of STDs and maybe just might keep us from having more John Wayne Gaceys and Jeffrey Dahmers in this world. Much of Europe and the rest of the world have legal prostitution and they're still here. So is Nevada.
no....
From an economic standpoint, legalized prostitution provides a pricing model which one may apply to sex. One may gauge the time and energy devoted to having sex against a straight price. This rationalizes consumption.
However, a negative side-effect is that it re-inforces class barriers. If a woman is poor and beautiful, she has a rational incentive to become a prostitute; wealthy, traditional suitors may then wonder if even the most virtuous poor beauties had engaged in sex for money. This plays out oddly in traditional societies, which will monitor womens' activity to a higher degree. Emily Post argued that a woman needed to live with her father, or a chaperone, until age 30. This sort of thing is still done in places like Turkey where prostitution is accepted but prostitutes are sequestered from proper society.
I am against paying for it
Why isn't anyone against this topic. I need a few resources for my speech class. So if anyone is against it compleatly plz share your ideas, I would love to read them.
I'm all for everyone having the freedom to do what they will. Many of the negative elements of prostitution could be remedied if governments would stop outright banning it and start regulating it. As the venerable George Carlin once said, "Selling is legal. Fucking is legal. Why isn't selling fucking legal?"
i think its necessary and beneficial...what i disagree with is the pimp thing, especially when the prostitute is under age...paying for sex or providing sex for money is fine by my eyes...selling ur body and then taking that (hard earned, I'm sure) money and giving it to a pimp?? now, THERE is the senselessness
i think it should be legalized and taxed. the government can make a lot of money off prostitution. look at the bunny ranch. they make tons of money over there.
No, banning it is sexist.
I am not against prostitution if it is administered and controlled. All prostitutes being checked for STD's, no pimps, AND all establishments being grouped in one area that does not impact comminities, perhaps an industrial area. I think there would be a lot less objections if people who did not want to be exposed to it could avoid these areas and stil
someone needing this type of service could obtain it, hopefully more safely.
I ahve to be honest and say yes. Every girl out there on the street is someone's daughter, and as a father myself I find that heartbreaking - our children deserve a better life than that. I just wish there was some practical way to solve the whole thing.
No Prostituion should be legal everywhere. And Ugly prostitutes should be mega cheap like say $10.00 an hour. They should have legalised brothels with showers & the Prostitutes should be tested regularly. Any sexual diseases then they should not be allowed to work until its taken care off. And extra strong Condoms should always be provided free at brothels.
Personaly I am not against prostitution as long as they are clean and not spreading diseases, First of all selling is leagal. Fucking is leagal and like Carlin said "why is it illeagal to sell something that's perfectly leagal to give away?"
I'm against pedophily and pimping, but prostitution and sex travel should be legal for men and women. Entertainment business sort of thing as long as the actors are consenting, not ripped of or forced and 21 or older. A good book to read Platform - Michel Houellebecq.
I've always wondered about the logic:
Why should it be illegal to get paid for something you'd otherwise do for free? What is this, a communist society?
NO simply because you have the choice on who you sleep with if instead of trading an emotional connection you want to trade something with more monetary value go right ahead.who has the right to tell someone what they can and cant do with there body. just because you wouldnt do it doesnt make it wrong everyones situation is different. im a big person on not judging others(i try anyways). people who try to use the moral statement are committing a sin there judgeing and like the bible states no sin is more worst off than the other. think about that before you judge someones life choice.
I think unless it is 100% safe they will never see the likes of me.
You know even at 100% safe I don't really see my ever going to one.
Do you look down at men who sleep with prostitutes?

Let's say I was a pimp, which I am not. What makes a person believe I am degrading women? Especially women who wants to have sex for cash.
