  • I graduated in 1998. I remember that the weather was freakin cold, and it rained on us a bit. I was the senior class VP, and the senior class council were the ones to read off the names of graduating seniors so they could walk across the stage and get their "diplomas" (I say in quotes because the items given out were only the diploma holders, diplomas were mailed later). I read out about 100 names, and the rest of the time stood freezing on stage while the other names were read. I also remember that I wasn't that interested in attending the ceremony. If I hadn't been required to (as part of being VP) and if it hadn't meant so much to my parents to watch me graduate, I don't think I would have gone at all. I guess I'm glad I went, but I'm not sure I'd be disappointed if I had chosen not to. I hope yours is good - with decent speeches, and decent weather. Congratulations on your graduation.
  • I graduated in 1968 and remembered that I just wanted them to give me my diploma so I could get out of there.
  • I graduated in 1984 from a Catholic high school. Our ceremony was in the Cathedral and offciated by the Bishop. It was a "big deal." I processed in with my class, and then those of us who were musicians retired to the loft to sing and play for the ceremony. We were much relieved to be up there, because we could unzip and fan and slouch etc. without fear of being seen as disrespectful. The seats up there were far more comfy, too.
  • I graduated in 1983 and I remember that our graduation song was, "Celebrate" by Cool & The Gang. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to take my Geritol and Milk of Magnesia and then go take a nap. In the year 2031, I want you to remember this answer, because you're going to use it word for word (except for the graduation date and graduation song.)
  • year... no comment. i do remember that i walked off stage the wrong way and then i lost my seat. oh, and some guy did a standing backflip before getting his fake diploma. oh, and i remember thinking how happy i was that i didn't have to deal with most the people in my graduating class anymore!
  • I graduated in 2004. I remember everything pretty much because, well, it wasn't that long ago. We wore silver caps and gowns and our class song was "Another Brick In The Wall" by Pink Floyd. I was voted Most Creative.
  • 1985 -- We were having a heat wave, so we were all sweating to death. I had to process in with a guy I knew mostly for his disgusting habit of dipping, and then spitting indiscriminately. The prank of the day was that many kids, when going up to get their "diplomas", put leis around the neck of the school principal. A whole bunch more had packets of condoms in their palms, so that when the principal shook their hand in congratulation he would receive the condom. This was done under the guise that he be "lei-ed safely" (remember, this was the mid-80s and safe sex was a huge deal in the San Francisco Bay Area).
  • Congrads, I hope you have fun and have people take a lot of pitchers you will have photos for later too look back at and share your special moment in time!! I rembered a since of accomplishment and happiness with in my self.I rember that I would miss some of my proffesiors because I was a teachers pet and a Deans assistant and I would miss there knowledge and company.
  • I graduated HS in 1995. The weather was perfect for an outdoor ceremony, and everything seemed in order. But the most distinct/alarming aspect of the ceremony I remember is that a very sweet & shy girl from my graduating class had a seizure and fell through the stands from the 4th row up. This was during a delay in the speeches, if I'm not mistaken. She turned out OK, though, thankfully. As far as the speeches, the valedictorian and salutatarian (sp?) did well, and seemed very motivated. However, the guest speaker was a pompous local business owner that was known to underpay and overwork his new high school graduate hirees. He spoke of the future being wide open, blah blah blah... same schmooze you hear from most people that can't think of anything original. Nuff said. :)
  • I graduated in 1985. I remember that I wished I had applied myself more because they listed all that kind of stuff when our names were called and my list was pretty short. lol
  • I graduated in 1981. The one thing I recall is everyone throwing our caps. I suppose it's because one hit me smacked dab in the eye LOL Hey, Congrats!!!!
  • 1994 and handing my dad my diploma and telling him here you go you wanted this more than I did.
  • Congrats Eli! I graduated in 2004. I didn't attend my graduation, because I was a dumbass and thought it was lame. I regret it now.
  • I graduated in 1998. I didn't go to the ceremony though. It just didn't seem that important. I remember the after parties, though.
  • I was released from the cage in 2006. I remember the principal telling us NOT to throw our caps... but - our student M.C. made a secret sign, so that when he made a noise like a bird we threw them anyway. Principal: "Congratulations Graduates of 2006" M.C: "CCCCCOOOORRRR, COOOOOORRRRR" Us: *Epic cap throwing* 'twas genius.
  • I graduated in 2000. I remember distinctly that the world did not end the way everyone had expected/intended/hoped. I sang the National Anthem and my best friend sat on the front row (top ten - she still sucks) making faces and gestures to make me less nervous.
  • i graduated in 1973. i remember that Oral Roberts was our speaker. LOL - and all i could think about was moving out and going to Calif -
