A lot of them do it for the feeling of control, so I'm not sure that castration would really do much in a lot of cases. I honestly think that they should serve the same time most murderers would, as in the process of their actions they may kill or nearly kill children. They should not be allowed to live amongst children, and there should be many restrictions placed upon them after they get out of jail if they do. They should be recognized for who they are, and should not be able to hide.

Paedophiles are a problem for society. When they have completed their usually inadequate sentence then the problems arise. They are a potential danger in society and are protected by law. There seems to be an impasse that cannot be overcome. They are dangerous and free and nothing can be done. In this the law is worse than an ass it actually puts our children in danger.

I don't think any punishment can ever be suitable. The point of punishment is supposed to be justice, and there's no punishment that can equal what a pedophile or molester takes from their victim/s. So I think that pedophiles should simply be put to death, with absolutely no special care taken to insure that their death is painless or easy. Because as much as it would satisfy people's sense of justice, and perhaps even partially salve the outrage of the general populous, indulging wrath and cruelty againts pedophiles does nothing to help heal the wounds of their victims, no matter how severely you punish them, no matter how much pain you inflict upon them, even if they do deserve it (Which they do), their victims will still be left with scars from what was done to them that no amount of "Justice" can ever erase. As far as I'm concerned, someone who's done something like that to a child is below any level of worth or consideration that would qualify them as human, and their pain is meaningless and worthless. Dead is dead, and what's done is done, just kill them, forget about them, and do all that can be done to help heal the wounds they've left behind.

I think they should be put down like the sick animals that they are. Sick in the mind, body and spirit. I do not believe they can be rehabilitated. I think once they cross that line outside humanity, they cannot come back. For them and our innocents.. they should die. The stste of Louisiana is considering the death penalty for a second-time pedophile offender. That should put a stop of the recidivism rate, at the least. There is no penalty sufficient to punish those who inflict such serious harm to a child. Even death cannot minimize the damage one wreaks on their victim, but it would certainly eliminate any future victims. I wish my state would consider it - and an express lane through the appeals process.

Please let me answer this from the point of view who, for medical reasons, was castrated at age 25. I was never a sex offender, nor would my conscience allow me to be one. There was a medical reason-varicoceles from injuries- that it was necessary to have my testicles removed. I was in pretty severe chronic pain before my urologist agreed to the surgery. SUrgery was done one at a time in 1985, and in 1987 I had the empty scrotum removed. I did not want implants. Can I still enjoy sex? You bet! I still have erections, and can perform in bed. My wife supported me through that ordeal and thought I was neat with only one thing between my legs rather than three.

I have never been a pedophile. I prefer adult women. That said, I have been castrated since 1985 due to a medical condition that could only be resolved by removing my testicles. Both my wife and my urologist supported my decision to be castrated. Wife and I had good sex for a long time after my surgery. If I may, I would like to answer this question from the perspective of a man who has been castrated. Removing the testicles, and therefore testosterone, will not likely quell the urges of a sex offender. Sex is just as much mental as physical, and even though they have been neutered their thoughts will not change. Due to injuries in my teens, I had to have both testicles removed at age 25. I have had great sex with my wife since my surgery, but the thought of molesting children has never crossed my mind. I have no idea of the thought processes of a sex offender. I firmly believe it is more of a mental disorder than a hormonal process. Psychatric halp may be useful. I truly don't know the proper answer.

The average inmate costs us 23 grand USD a year and up to 40k euros in the UK, and vengeance must be state-appointed or its illegal.
