Peado's are very sick people. It's not normal behaviour and can ruin you, both mentally and physically for the rest of your days. And you think we should castrate them? They didn't think of their victim when they where doing what they do. They need to be put through a mental traumer, as their victims are going through every day. They need to be enlightened as to what they have caused and if that doesn't work, a public hanging! Sorry but there's too many do-gooders and where has it got us?

I'd say castration, then keep an eye on them and if they are still at it then terminate them humanly.

Since we all seem to be in general agreement that these scum need more severe types of punishment, why isn't it happening and how can we get it to happen or will any effort in that direction be stopped by liberal politicians?

Neutering is the first step, keeping them locked up is the second step.

I say castration with a dull, rusty, butter knife, and a towel to bite down on.

Paedophiles are a problem for society. When they have completed their usually inadequate sentence then the problems arise. They are a potential danger in society and are protected by law. There seems to be an impasse that cannot be overcome. They are dangerous and free and nothing can be done. In this the law is worse than an ass it actually puts our children in danger.

Full castration, partial frontal lobotomy, and put them to work doing simple things on a work ranch. The average inmate costs us 23 grand USD a year and up to 40k euros in the UK, and vengeance must be state-appointed or its illegal. Keeping blood on their hands and theirs alone is one of the reasons the judicial and executive systems exist. My way is cheap, quick, and gets more use out of them than they would be soaking up our tax dollars or making us look like monsters just as bad as they are.

I don't feel angry at them, I feel pity. They're sick with a dysfunction that may turn out to not have a cure. At least we have a choice in how we conduct our lives. The wiser part of dignity is knowing when to hold one's anger in check.

Sadly, I've heard of cases where pedophiles ASKED for castration (chemical or otherwise) bofore being released form prison because they knew they would just do something again. The state refused and in each case that I've heard of, they did it again.

What does it say when someone KNOWS that they are going to do wrong, ask the government for help, and that help is denied?
Our system isn't about rehabilitation. It's about revenge. Punishment.
Think of how many of inmates, pedophile or otherwise, could be useful, productive, non-threatening members of society is we just gave them a little help. At the very least, I'm sure it would be cheaper than anotehr 10-25 years of keeping them in prison.

The homeless in Portland, Oregon are notorious for stealing things in the late autumn so they can spend the winter in the big house. Rehab, half-way housing and public works projects would be cheaper and more effective than just allocating a budget to deal with the 'winter load'. I tried rallying people to petition this, but I need more experience with public speaking first.
There's a reason behind the phrase 'crime and punishment'. I wonder what a country that focuses its punitive budget on rehab rather than punishment would be like?
