    1480 is when Ivan III made Moscow the capital of Russia (he was the first to call himself tsar of a united Russia, as opposed to a prince of one of the minor principalities).
    The capital was moved in 1703 to the newly constructed Petersburg by Peter I.
    Vladimir Lenin moved the capital back to Moscow in 1918.
