  • Good question: I think it's because organized reltions for various reason want followers to feel ashamed and embarressed by their sexuality. It's a type of control over others. Whether a believer or non-believer most people today seem to believe that religion and sex must stay apart.. Yet when you look at the Holy Bible and just about every other religous scripture, it's rich with erotic accounts act and desires. Read the Songs of Solomon; he king's ode to loving Sheba; David killing by proxy his lover Bathsheba's husband Uriah so that he could possess her despite all his many concubines. If one does a little studying of religious writings I think you will find there's not much separation of religion and sex but that religious organizations have pried them apart for their own purposes.
