The biggest single difference is that in Christianity, Jesus died as the substitute sacrifice for sinners, taking on Himself all the sins of the world and accepting the punishment for all sinners so that God could forgive those sinners and not have to punish them.

In Islam, a younger disciple took the appearance and place of Jesus and was crucified, so that Jesus could ascend to heaven and return later to save the world.

In other words, in Christianity Jesus IS the savior, and in Islam Jesus HAD and NEEDED a savior.

Furthermore, Islam teaches that "God did not have a wife, so how could He have a son?" Christianity teaches that Jesus is the son of man(kind) and the Son of God.

These differences are so enormous that where Islam and Christianity agree on Jesus--that He was a prophet born of a virgin and ascended into heaven--it hardly matters.

As I understand, Islams accept Jesus (Isa, as they call him). In Christianity, it is commonly agreed that Jesus Christ is the Savior, beyond the role of a prophet.

    1. Muslims believe that Jesus was merely a prophet. They do not consider Jesus divine. They put Muhammed at the center. Muhammed is their role model.

    2. Christains believe in Jesus is divine and believe Jesus is the one that saves, heals and delivers them from all evil. They believe Jesus dies for them on the cross. Jesus is their role model.

The Bible predates Muhammad and Islam by more than 575 years. The Jewish Torah predates Muhammad and Islam by 1,000 - 3,000 years. Muhammad said for Muslims to read the Bible for 'guidance and light'. Read Surah 3:50, Surah 5:44, Surah 5:46, Surah 5.68.

For Islam to say the Bible and Torah are corrupted, then is to call Muhammad a liar for recommending it. The New Testament was written by people who walked with Jesus. Muhammad only heard about Jesus called Isa in the Koran over five centuries later
