Help answer this question below.

Do u think if i got a chinchilla it would act up my allergies?(I'm allergic to dustmites and the chinchillas take dustbaths. Help!

    Chinchillas should have a sand bath every day. Place a high quality sand, into a high sided box or cat litter tray, and let your chinchillas roll around in it. They will thoroughly enjoy themselves and the sand will help to keep their coats healthy by removing excess oils. Always remove soiled sand immediately, and change all the sand once a week. Chinchillas must not be bathed in water as their coats absorb water and are very difficult to dry out. Water in the fur may cause hypothermia which, in turn, could prove fatal.
    they can have sand baths so unless you are allergic to sand then you should be ok

    I have allergies and have two chinchillas. I usually have a problem with dust etc too, but their dust baths and the chinchillas themselves don't bother me. I have a little sensitivity to the hay they eat but as long as I wash my hands right after I refill their hay bin, I'm usually fine.

    they are not bad for allergies but they do shed around 2 or 3 times a year and when they shed their fur does bother your nose and makes it itch but other than that you should get one they are fun to take care of
