Well, you're not alone. When it comes to scratches on the game, just pray to god or any other idle of your choice that it hasn't scratched down to the data of the disc. I tried to fix the disc by taking an expensive disc cleaner at Holly Wood East(a movie renting place), and I tried it again, but no success.

Good question. I have seen many remedys work on one disc but not on another. I see an ad on TV for some stuff to use to fix scratches in eye glasses and have wondered if it would work on a CD/DVD because it is said it fills the scratches. Furniture polish sounds safe and its possible it will work.

I just saw a woman on Good Morning America giving tips on how to save Cd's/DVD's. She suggested using furniture polish (like Pledge or Endust). Spray it on the disk, then wipe with a cloth. I tried it on a few games that didn't work, and I've been able to play them again. Some games have taken multiple applications to bring around.

There is this stuff they sell at Gamestop called Disk fix repair. It's the best stuff I've seen yet. Unlike the spin doctor it doesn't buff out the scratches along with delete the data on the disk. I used to use the spin doctor but it deleted some of the data on my cd's so I went into gamestop to ask them what to do. They gave me this. It's great you rub it on and then wipe it off. Oh and it works for about two hundred cd's. last I checked the small bottle was like $8.99. Buy it you won't regret it.

Find a store that offers Disc Resurfacing, You can do it yourself but when its done in a professional machine the disc looks brand new where when you do it yourself it leaves marks on the disc.

I would recommend tooth paste, peanut butter, vasoline, conditioner, baby oil or some diaper rash cream. all of these have worked very well for me. those are everyday products too. I dont recommend using those fix it kits. its wasted time and money

Wipe a bar of soap over the scratches very slowly. then wait about 15 minutes and rinse the cd off. and it should work.

gently rub toothpase on the bottom of the disk and let it sit for 15 min.+ then rinse off. Dap with paper towel to dry to prevent scratching.

Boil the disk, it sounds weird but it works. Clean the disk off a bit and boil some water. Take the water off the burner and put the disk in for a min or two. Then take it out using the back of a fork through the middle hole or something. Pat it dry with a soft cloth (microfiber works best for me) and it should work! If it doesn't work good repeat the process. Every disk I've done that to works in less than one or two goes.

do not do toothpaste. I tried it and it turned my cd into a hockey rink. Seriously the problem went from bad to worse. If you do screw it up worse or can't fix it there are machines that can. Most video game shops have one. They actually melt and redistribute the plastic on the bottom. It's really neat to watch. I think the boiling water post would work on the same premises. Heat up the plastic and it should melt smoothly. I'll try it out on a cheap disk first...

I have tried those "fix-it" kits and never had it work. Good Luck.
