The past 17 years have gone by quickly without a partener.

Depends on how long it takes you to get over your partner. Until i got over my last one everything seem to drag on but when since I got over him time flys.

is your partner going on a trip? or have you split? If it's a trip, you don't stop missing the partner, but you will fall into a new routine of living without him/her... It will actually be traumatic for both of you when s/he comes back home... if it's split, time will heal to a degree. Focus on the good and try moving forward optimistically about your next relationship. Therapy will help. honest.
