  • Ducks and sparrows fly south for the winter to a different region where it is warm.
  • The ducks fly south for the winter. Some sparrows fly south but many stay and eke out a living in the north. We have many birds visiting our feeders here in Upstate New York. They really eat a lot just before each storm or sudden temperature drop. We can almost tell how bad it is going to be by how many birds come and how much they eat. We have sparrows, chickadees, finches, goldfinches, nuthatches, woodpeckers, doves, and many more. In town, many geese never left for the winter but stayed around.
  • Down the pub.
  • Ok...so I am in the South...Texas. The ducks and birds here disappeared for just a day when we had a brief "snow" Monday night, they weren't around Tuesday morning and then returned to the area (near a lake) by afternoon. Can someone help me with an answer to this? Thanks!
  • Sparrows stick around all winter,ducks don't.
