You are likely to get more than 15 years out of one.

They can live for a very long time, even up to 20 years or more. My mom had one that was 21 when she died. Each summer she would lay eggs in the bathroom vanity, poor thing lol! Ours never lived that long, maybe because they were breeders. They lived to their mid teens.
