  • At 5 weeks hCG can be detected with an early pregnancy test which can detect as little as 20mIU/ml/hCG and 6 or 7 weeks on up a regular pregnancy test will come out with definitive results. Regular pregnancy tests detect no less than 50 mIU/ml/hCG.
  • There's a new commercial on TV that says they can detect it at 3 weeks. Don't remember the name of the product because it's not something I need to know but I remember being really surprised that it could be done that soon. They claim they want to get it to "as soon as it happens" I made some horrifying scream to my husband because I don't think people would like that very much! Could take the joy away from the moment:-)
  • Now a days you can tell at only two or three weeks. But if you do test that early, your body may not be producing enough to be detected and it may not show that you are pregnant even if you are. Another thing to consider is the fact that many, as much as one in three, conceptions don't ever progress. So you may be pregnant; but, miscarry very early on. Normally you would pass this off as a bad period; but, if you take the test you'll know you were pregnant and that may cause you to be upset.
  • I was 5 weeks when I found out, but I have a friend who was only 2 1/2 weeks when she showed up positive.
  • atleast 3 weeks. (so you cant have sex then the next day you think youre pregnant and have a test!) it wil most likely show negative.
