If discs recorded on a cd or dvd recorder don't have the compact disc logo on them they won't play in other players. Is this true?

I HAVE A DOLBY DVD PLAYER.CAN YOU TELL ME IF IT TAKES DISK THAT ARE PLUS,OR MINUS,SO I CAN MAKE COPIES OF MOVIES.

I have some questions concerning the color of the reflective surface of DVDs. Do factory pressed dvds only come in silver and gold reflective surfaces? What about Purple surfaces? Where can I find more info on the colors of reflective surfaces
