  • THat Mr. Clean magic eraser is pretty good....if you like scrubbin!
  • Murphy's Oil soap works rather well and so too Trisodium Phosphate heavy duty cleaner (AKA TSP). However most often just plain water will get most of the dirt/dust/grime and debris on walls. Plain water dries without a film and does not require rinsing. Save the Soaps and cleansers for areas that are tough to clean. IF (which happens a lot in new construction) the walls were not painted, then use nothing at all. Any liquid will remove the plaster/texture. Instead you will need to prime the walls (With a cheap, latex flat paint two coats followed by your better paint) and paint. DO NOT scrub painted plaster walls, you will rub off the paint and have to repaint. If this is mostly dust, then use a dry cloth or any of the dusters on the market to wipe down the walls - usually gets most of the stuff. Personally I prefer to wipe down walls, then repaint them when I move into a new place - or insist that the landlord has it done (when renting) prior to my moving in. A fresh coat of paint not only looks good but is as clean as a wall can get.
