It's been a few years but I still write them. But I've never written anything as romantic as Napoleon did to Josephine.
"I awake all filled with you. Your image and the intoxicating pleasures of last night, allow my senses no rest. Sweet and matchless Josephine, how strangely you work upon my heart. Are you angry with me? Are you unhappy? Are you upset? My soul is broken with grief and my love for you forbids repose. But how can I rest any more, when I yield to the feeling that masters my inmost self, when I quaff from your lips and from your heart a scorching flame? Yes! One night has taught me how far your portrait falls short of yourself! You start at midday: in three hours I shall see you again. Till then, a thousand kisses, mio dolce amor! but give me none back for they set my blood on fire."
I dont write love poems to my hubby but i do leave him little love notes in his pack up box, things like "love yer loads" he thinks im mad and so does his mates at work so i cant win really.
I think text messages (SMS) are the new poetry. You have to say something romantic in 160 characters. My Doris is the best at it...
I do... is that odd?
I write one maybe once every 3-4 months... I find it easy to open my heart on paper
We do.
I can see it less popular with e-mail and stuff, but I think it is more romantic if you take the time to write it by hand then send it in the mail.
I suppose they would if they had a strong love relationship.

Tell me, I've become curious - what do you think of Beethoven's Immortal Beloved letter?
by Inspector Javert on June 4th, 2007
I think they are very sad. It sounds like he never was able to have his love. Possibly that is why he gave up his life, maybe without a fight. Did he ever send them? Did she ever know? Some say he fathered a child, others say he never even was alone with her. How sad to feel so deeply and never be together as a couple. "Ever thine, Ever mine, Ever ours."

It really, really is sad... no one can answer who it is, though there is alot of speculation. As for if he ever sent them or not, I'm not sure, though I don't think he did... as for weither or not she knew, it's very hard to answer as well... Hopefuly, she did... And I don't think that the rumor he fathered a child is true, though it'd be lovely to know that there were indeed descendants of Beethoven running around!
