Shareaza is persoanlly my fave. Limewire is quite popular but does not have many uploaders. Shareaza has much more uploaders, and the upload speed is usually faster.

How about using Torrents and using a good Antivirus program. And by good I don't mean Mcaffee or Norton. I am talking about F-Secure, Kaspersly, BitDefender, etc. Torrents have MUCH more bandwidth and allow for fast downloads.
