How much caffeine do you consume daily, in the form of coke, coffee, energy drinks, etc. Also, do you smoke? Also, do you eat 3 meals a day? I had a friend with a very unhealthy lifestyle, who had headaches all the time too. He would consume caffeine all day to keep himself awake, not eat (only once a day), then not be able to sleep. No, sleep, more caffeine the next day, lots of smoking. A vicious cycle. The first thing I did was to get him to eat regular meals, then to go to sleep at a regular hour and third to limit caffeine drinks. He did get better.

You may want to get your corroted arteries checked. My mom & father n law started having bad headaches & blurring vision & they had sonagrams done on their neck & found out they had blockages. Your never to young to have this checked. Good luck & I hope you feel better

Could be caused by pollen allergies. You might try a trip to the coast to see if that clears thing up. You could also be allergic to something you're eating. Common food allergies include chocolate, cheese, msg, stuff like that. Keep a diary of what you eat and see if that helps identify a food cause.

After reading that you smoke a pack a day and "lots of black coffee" I can almost bet that it's the coffee. I smoked 2 packs a day for a couple years then I used the patch to quit and did. As for my coffee intake - If I didn't have a cup of coffee everyday I would get a pulsing headache that almost had me in tears. As soon as I drank a cup I would be fine. I ended up having to ween myself off coffee because I didn't want to be a slave to anything any longer. It worked and since then I don't get headaches anymore. This may be what is going on with you also...

You could have Chiari I malformation. The base of the brain ( the cerebral tonsil) actually is squeezed out of the skull by a bone malformation ( being to small) the tonsil then has to share the same space in the neck that the spinal cord is in. This tiny space was not meant to hold more than the spinal cord itself. The result is backed up spinal fluid and higher levels of intracranital pressures from spinal fluid. The main symptom of Chiari is headache feeling like your head will explode or severe pressure like a bad headrush that comes and goes without explanation. It can occur with any type of straining and also it can be "positional" possibly when you are sleeping the position of your head can be why your waking up with headaches like this. I had about 4 MRI's until one radiologist and a neck doctor diagnosed me with this condition ( that you are born with by the way) NOT 1 NUEROLOGIST saw it on my previous MRI's it is extremely under diagnosed and hard to get doctors to take your symptoms seriously.
I hope this helps and maybe you can get answers faster then I did ( 20 years of pain for me)

No offense Monchi, but how could you complain about anything if you consume so much caffine and smoke a pack a day!!! No wonder you are having headaches. Coffee and nicotine can cause headaches, especially if you consume it every day. Coffee lowers magnasium levels and is a diurectic so it basically dehydrates you. You're probably dehydrated, try drinking lots and lots of water. Headache activity is also increased in smokers, with headache activity directly linked to the amount of nicotine consumed--the greater the nicotine exposure, the greater headache frequency and severity become. Heres a link that may help you... Good luck!
