No bars, clubs or parties so I think sports clubs, but then I see no activities so I think night school classes, but then I see you're involved in works so I think you must already be meeting people, although I'm not too sure what you mean by works.

I meet people all the time on accident when traveling. On the bus, airport, airplane, even just hitching a ride. When I talk about a friend for the first time, my family and friends will tease me about where I met them. It's rare for me not to exchange numbers with at least one person when I travel, and I never go looking for people to talk to!!

BryInLanza nailed a good one with night classes. It offers many segways like -"would you mind grabbing a cup of coffee and going over this material later?"... Church is another good place. A public pool, a dog park. Pick one of your interests. Let's say you are a stamp collector, find a stamp collector club. If you like to talk, find a Toastmaster's club, if you like to play naked ice hockey, go to the naked ice hockey club. (the last one is silly, but you get the drift). You will end up in a group of people, some of whom are going to be single, possibly cute (except the stamp collector dude) and are going to have at least one interest in common with you.

Think of the things you like to do and join a club. Using myself as an example to show the different types clubs you can come up with I'm a member of the Young Democrats, the Wagner Society, the Episcopal Church Women, Junior League. There are also sports leagues you can join or groups that get together to go hiking or mountain climbing or power walking. Church groups are also a good way to meet people. Basically by meeting people through a group or club that is centered on something you already do/like, your chances of meeting people like yourself are increased. Good luck!

Everything socially geared seems to be attached to a church in some way. I'd rather be shot in the head.
