What do you think about 'positive trolling' - ie where one ABer goes through and gives points to every answer in a question, or every answer belonging to another ABer?

Although not as bad as negative trolling, I don't think it's right. I suppose thats why AB put a limit on how much you can uprate one person per week.

some-times every answer is a good answer. i don't do just because of who answers though.

I do something like it all the time, quite honestly, although I never start out that way. I see one answer I like, then another, then several more, and before you know it, I've uprated the first 20 of the 28 answers. I'd feel like a dog if I didn't then check out ALL the answers and uprate the ones I like, which usually ends up being all but three or four of the remaining replies. When I'm rating, I feel bad about leaving people out. I just can't do it. Not everyone has the ability to express him or herself well, but that doesn't mean their contributions are less valuable. I try to remember that when I'm rating. Now, if you're talking about going through pages and pages of answers and gratuitously uprating, I reckon people could do worse things. Seems pretty insincere, though.

If the answer is helpful and witty, I give my little 3 pts. Never matters who gave the answer to me. On the other hand, I've upset someone because they have hit EVERY ONE of my answers yesterday with their negative 3! Not that I care about THEM, they are just showing how petty they are, and spending the time dwelling on ME, instead of doing something more productive with their day. LOL! No skin off my nose.

That is one of my favorite pastimes here on AB. I just don't get to do it as much as I like. I did it just yesterday....to someone who hasn't been here for a couple of months. One of the reasons I guess, is that I have come across questions that have over 100 answers and most have no points. It just bugs me!!

They are just points. If you want to give them, give them. I give plenty of points out simply because they seem to mean so much to some people.

I do it quite frequently, but not indiscreminantly. If the answer was a good one, I point to make up for the troll's dirty work.

I give everyone who anwers a question of mine equal points no matter if I agree or disagree with their answers. Is that positive trolling?

I do like doing it and not ashamed.

I wouldn't just uprate all of their Q&A's. I would uprate the ones that were unfairly downrated or good Q&A's that received no answers or points.
