I don't know about Lehigh County, but I have personally seen black bears, and I've heard things and seen damage caused by grizzly bears. I don't know if that's helpful...

The only bears in the east US are black bears, thogh they come in brown versions. They are still called black bears. We have many bears here in upstate New York. They can be quite the trouble makers, especially around birdfeeders and trash cans.
