  • Sure. I can climb on the roof of my '91 Mercury Tracer without a ladder and it'll hold me. Granted, I make a big dent in the metal, but it certainly doesn't come apart in great metal shards or anything. I'd assume the roof of a land rover is reinforced and quite sturdier than the roof of my little sedan.
  • Not really. It's called a roof access ladder. It provides access to the roof. The roof is not meant to hold people. It is there to help you get to cargo that may be stored on the roof. Instead of having to grab onto anything you can find, they give you a purpose-built, sturdy ladder. You can sit on the roof but you may dent it. I believe it could probably hold one person under 200lbs, but only if they lie flat and distribute their weight. After all, it can hold a certain amount of cargo on the roof, and if it can hold cargo it can hold people. Look at the rating for the maximum roof weight and that will tell you if standing on it is feasible. Hope this helps, Good luck
