  • If you are washing your car yourself here's one way [changing the way you rinse your car]: "You may have noticed that when you rinse your vehicle using a hose with a spray nozzle that alot of water remains on the surface. This makes drying a chore with all that water left behind! The water may even be beading and if the beads dry before you get to them, you will be left with thousands of tiny water spots. There is an easier way! Simply take the spray nozzle off of your water hose and use a stream of water instead of a spray to rinse your vehicle. Start at the top and slowly move the hose in a left and right pattern as you work your way down. Using this method to rinse causes the water to sheet right off your vehicle. This floods the vehicle surface and by providing more water volume, you allow gravity to pull the water down and off the car!" [source http://www.premiumautocare.com/howtowayocar.html]
  • I use a towel to wipe away as much water as possible. the next step is very simple....i hit the interstate and nature run its course. natural air drying. try to hit a speed zone of at least 50 mph for about 5-10 minutes. also, if your live in a hard water area, its best to go to a car wash that uses a soft water rinse. it leaves no water marks. end
  • The fastest way, if you don't feel like burning through gas on a highway, is probably a soft lambskin cham (they're not very expensive and can be found at any hardware store). Using a towel is alright too, but it can leave you with swirl marks and barely noticeable scratches that might cause you problems later on.
  • I use an electric wind blower starting at the top of the vehicle & work down. This gets water out of crevices & does not leave water marks on the paint. You can also use an air compressor to blow dry the vehicle. This works fast & gets the vehicle ready very quickly if you are planning to wax it.
  • Try using a filter which attaches to the end of the hose and takes out particles. See http://www.homemadesimple.com/en_US/mrclean/home.do
