  • It's possible that the dog attributes eating from that bowl to the pain she felt. I would try using a different food in a different bowl in a different spot in the house. I would also take the dog back to the vet within another day or two if she continues to not eat.
  • You can try cooking up some brown rice, chicken (maybe breasts...because they have LESS fat on them, or chicken livers...which are inexpensive...) BOIL the meat. If you use chicken OTHER THAN breasts, or want to use hamburger then be sure to remove all the fat...(drain it after cooking, then rinse it off with hot water in a colander or allow it to cool down over night and skim the fat from the meat;still in the water you boiled it in) Offer no more than 1/2 cup of the total: Brown rice diced up meat AND 1 tablespoon of PLAIN CANNED PUMPKIN stirred into the food. You can use turkey, lamb, beef or chicken..but defat it before feeding. I would also take her total daily serving of food and break it up into at least 3 small meals per day...four would be good too. Read over the ingredients on your "regular" feed. For this girl avoid CORN, MEAT BY-PRODUCTS, ARTIFICIAL COLORS, FLAVORS AND other fillers that may not serve her needs. A truly GREAT brand of commercial food is: http://www.naturesvariety.com/ You CAN order it on line or request that your pet food supply store order it. It's one of the ones actually WORTH WHAT YOU PAY, OR you can consider cooking food for her...AFTER you do some research on what a healthy diet SHOULD consist of for dogs. The "meal" I've suggested here is a good one, and my dogs love pumpkin so much I let them have some about ever other week (open can..2 dogs...one can lasts a week+) HOWEVER it is a meal to stimulate her to eat..I would NOT use it without other things added for the long haul..it's not 100% balanced...but one you could "build on" to bring it to 100% balanced.
