  • Neither. There is really nothing new about blogs. People have always had their own websites from which they related the mundane details of their daily lives. In the early 90s there were people editing html files in Notepad and FTPing them (which is exactly how I still update my website). Then there were AOL and others who presented personal webpages for people with no skill. Then came the blogs. Most bloggers are not self absorbed or isolated.
  • i t hink self absoroption. i couldnt imagine writing a blog about my insignificant life. who would care honestly
  • I blog for a number of reasons, most of them selfish and self absorbed. And yet - I have regular readers. But seriously, I consider it a form of therapy, a creative outlet, a way to rant about life, a means of sharing the interesting things I find on the web, a means to ask people their opinion on stuff. It's OK if my audience is small. I don't know if I would continue indefinitely if I had no readers.
