  • I would think that your state has a division under the Attorney Generals office called Consumer Affairs. They will investigate your complaint if it has legal merit. You might find better remedy if you state your complaint to the owner or corporate office of the business that you did business. Most reputable businesses will try to find a way to resolve your complaint. They need your business and "good will". The rule of thumb is an unhappy customer will tell 13 people about a bad experinece and only tell 3 about a great experience. The amount of money companies spend on marketing is becoming the largest expence. It behooves companies to make you happy within reason. Unfortunately, I have found people in our day that seem to find themselves entitled to prices and conditions that are not profitable.
  • Depending upon the nature of the business you wish to complain against, in my state you may also complain to the State Corporation Commission, The State Insurance Commssion, or the licensing body such as the State Medical Association, or the State Bar Association. However, the consumer protection division of your state's Attorney General's Office will advise you if there is another agency you should be reporting your complaint to.
  • Most govt agencies exist to enforce laws and contracts of a sort. If the consumer complaint also involves a violation of the law, yes. If not, i.e. rudeness, lousy attitude...welll noooo. Keep in mind that if the govt got involved with every service conflict, we'd all be in court, jail or mental hospitals.
