NO. Back in the early days, I believe balls were returned. Today, fans may keep them. Only in Wrigley Field do fans not keep home run balls that are hit by the opposition.

Just a reminder that in todays game that if the ball is hit into the stands but a fielder has a opportunity to catch it, and a fan interferes by reaching over the fence to catch the ball, it is NOT a homerun in is FAN INTERFERENCE and the batter is out. So there go the days of trying to catch a ball out of the air and take it away from the visiting team and give your home team the win.
