    As a kid I hated my name, "Shelby". No one else had it, and I wanted a more common name, like Ashley or something.

    Now I love it.

    My middle name on the other hand...

    I used to hate it with a vengeance and at one stage tried to get people to use my middle name...but now I am used to it, though I prefer the shortened form to my real name.

    As far as my first name goes, I was named after an Elvis Costello song. Take that as you will.

    My mother couldn't think of a middle name, so she took everyone else's - Marie. Ick.

    Carlin's my last name. Yes, I have an uncle named George. No, not THAT George Carlin.
