I often notice a film on the top of my tea when i brew from tea bags (never get it with loose leaf steeps)... what gives? (and this is steeped in a cloth bag, not that waxy cheap lipton paper..)

it's an oil that is released from tea called tannin. It's natural, no worries. It has a bitter taste, so brewing your tea for a shorter period of time will reduce the amount of tannins released into your tea. I'll go rummage around for a link :o) -
