Why do we all view Pedophiles as child rapists? Many Pedophiles do not act on thier urges.

Any pedophile that engages in viewing child porn is a rapist. They are paying the people that raped the child to have the child raped.

I could not agree more that all sick people should receive treatment, regardless of the nature of the illness or the means of the patient. But.... I still think that there is more that you are not saying. I hope to God that I am wrong.

The ones that do act on their urge should have it cut off Litterly. and the others should be locked up somewhere to keep children safe since it isn't curable.

Very interesting question. I don't think people can choose their sexual likes and dislikes. Some people are attracted to the opposite sex, some are attracted to the same sex. These people can act on their urges. Some people are attracted to animals. Unfortunate, but true-I'm sure they do not shoose to be sexually attracted to animals. The same applies to paedophiles. NOBODY would choose to be sexually attracted to children. Paedophilia is the most evil crime. So I'm sure that acting paedophiles only represent a small percentage of actual paedophiles in society (a worrying thought) Obviously nobody would ever admit to being sexually aroused by children so they will have severe problems all their lives. I think the topic needs to be worked on-I know it is a kind of taboo subject and brings out extreme hatred in people. But a non-practising paedophile must feel like the most disgusting, loneliest person alive. If they are as numewrous as I believe, we need to adress the situation before they turn into practising paedophiles.

If someone does not act on it, s/he is not a criminal. I consider "acting on it" to include patronizing child pornography... that makes the market profitable and encourages more of the same. They could go for yaoi or hentai or some animation that does not involve harming children. They can also find sites with fiction written to suit them. I have no problem with someone who views child yaoi, hentai, or the fiction I describe. If a pedophile can keep from acting on it or contributing to the market, I do not think they are a criminal. If they do not harm a children they are not child rapists. The problem is that, from what I have read, people with pedophiliac urges do tend to go on to act on them in time. Many people call for the castration of a practicing pedophile. There is a problem with that. Even if they chemically castrate a male pedophile, he can just use something else for whatever it is he wants to do to the child. Rather than cutting off his genetalia, I say cut of his other head... the one sitting on top of his neck. This also applies to practicing female pedophiles.

If a person views child pornography then by that act they are acting on a sexual urge to have sex with children and since the photos they are viewing are of a child being abused they should not be surprised to find themselves in jail, hopefully getting anally raped by Mr Big.
