After the GOP changed their logo, some people asked themselves about the reasons and found out that the five-pointed stars pointing down could be interpreted as a satanic symbol... Here an interesting discussion about this issue: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Reference_desk/Archives/Humanities/2007_March_9#What_are_the_details_on_the_recent_change_of_the_position_of_rotation_of_the_three_starson_the_GOP_logo

There are no accidents when it comes to designing emblems, logos, heralds and the like. To start with, the GOP logo is not dignified nor even interesting but rather sterile and boring, as are most corporate logos, lacking any character whatsoever. As someone who was at one time an ad executive can tell you, with somewhat of an expert opinion, the minalmist approach to corporate design of logos these days is half hearted and lazy. As regards the symbolism of the parts that make up the GOP logo, one would have to be fairly ignorant to not notice certain of the details. the main "point" is why are the five pointed stars inverted? If the GOP logo is supposed to honor the flag of the U.S., then why would it turn the stars in opposion to the position of those on our flag? Regardless of what masonic magicians believe pentagrammical stars symbolize when they are upright or downright, it still does not address the curious "mis-position" of the stars (assuming that they should mirror those on the flag). And why three of them?

It's several things. One, it's a cry for help. Republicans recognize that they have no guiding principles that they all agree on. Two, it symbolizes the leadership void in the GOP. Nobody knows who's leading the Republican Party. It could be one or more of the following: â— Michael Steele, â— Rush Limbaugh â— Newt Gingrich â— John Boehner â— Mitch McConnell â— Mighty Mouse â— Sen. Larry Craig, the toe-tapping pervert who solicited sex from the deputy in the men's restroom at the airport.
