What is the meaning and origin of the Russian surname "Agranovski" & "Agranovsky"?

    The origin of the last name Agranovsky (in all spellings) is the Jewish
    bibilical first name Aharon.
    The Hebrew soft vocal "h=hei" became hard "kh" and then "g" when Jews settled in Poland and in Ukraine.

    That is how "Aharonovsky* turned to "Agronovsky" and "Agranovsky". The common origin have the last names Aharonov, Agranov, Aharonovich, Agranovich etc.
