What is the meaning and origin of the Russian surname "Agramov"?

    Probably refers to someone from "Agram." Agram is actually "the historic Austrian German name for Zagreb, Croatia."

    “Ov”, “off”, “in” and “ev” at the end of a Russian surname indicate the surname means “son of ____” (whatever). It should also be noted that “off” is often the “English” version of “ov.” It is also used by Russians to make their name sound more aristocratic.
