  • It wouldn't be any more unhealthy than any other colour...I dye my hair brown-black, and I am healthy.
  • As long as you're not pregnant. And then it wouldn't be unhealthy for you, just the baby.
  • There's a reason they call it DYE (DIE). I'm sure your hair is beautiful the way it is.
  • The only way I can see how it'd be unhealthy is if you looked in the mirror and felt dark or if people treated you differently because of your dark hair.
  • No it is perfectly healthy to die your hair black.
  • If you are blonde and want to dye it black, you had BETTER MEAN IT!!!! Black is the hardest color to remove by far. Color (dye) does not life color: What this means is, if you don't like it, you can't just go get blonde or brown color and put on it and expect it to 'return.' NO, you have to remove the color with products like bleach, (generally their are products specifically for this procedure, but just as harsh). The process can take days, and THEN YOUR HAIR IS FRIED. If you are going to any reputable hairstylist, you will get the same answer. But don't believe me....I've just been a colorist for 27 years and teach it professionally. Can't you find another way to show your individuality? Pierce something LOL
  • It's not unhealthy, and I'm sure the contrast on a blonde person looks great.
  • I can't see why it would be unhealthy... go for it
  • if you want to go darker and your hair is blonde, then you need to gradually go dark , you nee to use two colors auburn and dark brown, first color hair auburn., you need to get pigmentation back in(natural highlights) then in several days color a medium brown or a dark neutrual brown. best is clairol nice'n'easy. when i had my hair dyed at a solon 10 years ago to cover my grey , the stylist convinced me to go a medium blonde in ash. i agreed(stupid me). when i looked in the mirror, i looked aweful, i went home and called clairol on how to get my hair to medium brown, the steps i mentioned above is how to go darker. my natural hair color is brown with soft auburn highlights. now since i am in my 40's my hair has turned a darkest brown/black and greying slowly but noticable. so i have been coloring to my natural color and only do this twice a year. i am not ready to go all the way grey yet, i still look like i am 10 yrs younger than my age.
  • i thought that wen i dyed my hair black, i wouldnt want to die it any other color either. trust me it may look gorgeous at first but after 6 months im ready to re-dye it to brown and its a PAIN !!! im so scared im gonna get damaged hair .. im warning you- dont dye it black !!!
  • It will go a weird greenish grey colour if you don't leave it in long enough
  • I can't believe you haven't considered the safest alternative. Purchase a good quality wig, and decide if that is what you want. (NOTE: good quality!!!) If you choose to dye, definitely go to a qualified hair color professional and follow the directions completely.
