In this day and age it is too normal. Imagine the reaction they would get 20 years ago when cell phones were an unheard of thing?

YES!!!!!!!!! I have experienced this a few times and it freaked me out. I wasn't sure if she was speaking to me or not. AND, I have observed that people who do this are less concerned about washing their hands afterwards. yuck!

Its probably not good etiquette. I wouldnt want to hear someones bottom in action while Im having a conversation with them !

What would be really funny is if the phone slipped out their hand and went "SPLASH" between their legs. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://us.gizmodo.com/gadgets/phonetoilet2.JPG&imgrefurl=http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/cellphones/the-cellphone-in-my-toilet-149025.php&h=390&w=520&sz=48&hl=en&start=4&um=1&tbnid=r6_ysTPC572KYM:&tbnh=98&tbnw=131&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dcell%2Bphone%2Btoilet%26svnum%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DN

I think this is customary at Boscov's department store men's room.

I think it is somewhat poor etiquette. Texting would be better. Cellphones are so common that it would not be unusual for someone to use one in the restroom, just rude.
