Means "son of Aga." It's derived from the men's name "Agapei", which means "the loved."

“Ov”, “off”, “in”, “vich” and “ev” at the end of a Russian surname indicate the surname means “son of ____” (whatever). It should also be noted that “off” is often the “English” version of “ov.” It is also used by Russians to make their name sound more aristocratic.

The problem with some of these names is that it is hard to tell whether or not the name is literal (it means, literally, "son of the loved") or not (it means son of a guy named "Aga")
