Can anyone estimate how alcoholic the wine of the ancient world (that the Greeks for example, watered down) would have been?

It's a tricky question, cause there were probably 100's of different types, and most all food production was local, grapes & methods/knowledge varied...the ancient world didn't have the consistency between regions, that you see now. i know that the greeks did a trick with wine. they were digging the grapes for a few weeks and then they would drain them in order to make wine. This technique made wine very strong, you know hot, burning
