Is it easier to get a new PS2(slim or chunky) or fix a old one? If its easier to get a new one which is better, chunky or slim?

Well it's always easier to get a new (or working) one, but in either case, I advise you get the slim one. Sometimes the problem is easy to fix. I'd suggest going to a PS2 forum where they discuss common problems to determine what common problems are and then how easy those problems are. Then you can take gamble from there when you buy a non working one.
