Did Margaret Thatcher's actions as Prime Minister benefit or harm the UK more overall? Why?

She gave us the poll tax. I hate her. Mind you Tony Blair has crippled us more, at least she had a little common sense.

Overall ( with the exception of the poll tax ) I think she did a good job. She enabled more people than ever to buy thier own homes and turned around loss making public sector companys, mainly by privitising them. It was a painful time for some, but good for the country.

I think her leadership not only benefited the UK greatly, but the world as well. I greatly admired her as Prime Minister.

The Iron Lady appeared to do the UK good from the view of outside looking in.

she saved the nation. when she came to power the country was falling apart, i know that her methods did not appeal to all, but when she left you can not deny the country was in a hugely better state.
